Greetings NABI Supporters and Fans,
As the NABI Foundation nears the end of another year, we are truly grateful for all the support and patience from everyone! The transition into an official 501 (C) (3) Non-profit organization has had its many challenges, but through these challenges the NABI Foundation was able to better recognize the programs the Foundation will be focusing on to better serve the youth NABI is committed to.
Though we appreciate all the support we received for producing a Pow Wow in 2009 & 2010, the Foundation will be focusing more on our youth programs, with an emphasis on Sports, Health and Education. We will produce a smaller festival scheduled for November 2012, celebrating Native American Heritage Day. This event will include Native American entertainment, dancing and Indian Market.
Two thousand and twelve is going to be an exciting year, though NABI is no longer going to produce a Pow Pow, we are going to continue to organize the exciting annual “Chasing the Sun 10K & Health Fair” scheduled for March 31, 2012. It is our hope to build this race into one of the top annual races in Arizona.
July 11-15, 2012 will also be the 10th Anniversary of the Native American Basketball Invitational! 10 Years-wow!!! Our goal is to register over 100 teams to celebrate our anniversary. This exciting national tournament has served over 10,000 youth, encouraged the NCAA to honor tribal sovereignty by exempting Tribal tournaments from their same state rule, created over 50 college athletic scholarship opportunities and allowed NABI to grant over $75K in scholarships to our alumni and Native American youth organizations. To date, NABI has not turned down one request for funding! That is something we are proud to announce and a goal we will continue to strive for.
Along with NABI Basketball, we will host NABI Baseball & Softball Invitational, in partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the NABI Youth Physical Education Program for youth age 8-14.
All information about our exciting programs is available on our website, so please take time to enjoy our site and feel free to contact us with any questions.
And remember, NABI Foundation is a non-profit and welcomes your support via donations, volunteering or spreading the word about all our successful programs.
Thank you for your continued support.
Many Blessings,
GinaMarie Scarpa
